Islamic finance in The Gambia continues to grow, and with that growth comes the need for greater awareness, knowledge and capacity across the country.
At The Institute of Islamic Economics & Finance (IIEF), we are committed to playing our part in this journey.
Recently, we had the opportunity to deliver an Islamic Microfinance training for YONNA provincial staff from Soma, Basse, Brikama Ba and Bansang.
For us, this is more than just a training. It is about taking Islamic Microfinance knowledge beyond the major centres and making it accessible to professionals and communities across the country, including our rural communities.
Through awareness and capacity building, we hope to contribute to a stronger, more inclusive and sustainable Islamic finance ecosystem in The Gambia. 🇬🇲
The infographic gives a snapshot of where we are today — from Islamic banking and microfinance to Takaful, Sukuk, Waqf and Shari’ah governance.
There is still much more to do, and we are committed to being part of that journey.
Together, we are unlocking the potential of Islamic finance for The Gambia. 🤝🇬🇲
